SMS Messaging Terms
How SMS messaging works on the AI Lead Closer platform, and the rights and responsibilities of everyone involved.
Effective August 17, 2026
1. About these terms
AI Lead Closer is a software platform that businesses use to communicate with their own customers and enquiries by SMS. These terms describe how messaging works on the platform.
Two different parties are involved, and the distinction matters throughout this page. AI Lead Closer provides the software. The business using the platform decides who is messaged, obtains consent, and is the sender that recipients are communicating with.
2. What SMS messages are used for
Businesses use the platform to send messages related to their own operations, including:
- Replying to enquiries a person has sent to the business
- Answering questions about the business's services, pricing and policies
- Continuing a conversation the recipient has already started
- Communications about an appointment or scheduled work, where the business uses the platform for that purpose
- Passing a conversation to a member of the business's team
The platform is intended for conversational and transactional business messaging. It is not intended for unsolicited bulk marketing.
3. Consent
Recipients must provide appropriate consent before receiving SMS messages, where consent is required by applicable law, carrier rules or platform policy. Consent is obtained by the business that uses the platform, not by AI Lead Closer.
How consent is obtained today
SMS consent may be obtained through a lead form hosted by AI Lead Closer on behalf of a business. That form presents a separate SMS consent checkbox, distinct from the phone number field.
- The checkbox is unchecked by default and is never pre-selected.
- Entering a phone number does not constitute consent to receive text messages.
- Submitting the form does not constitute consent to receive text messages.
- The consumer must affirmatively check the SMS consent checkbox.
- The checkbox is optional — an enquiry can be submitted without it, and consent is not a condition of purchase.
- The consent names the specific business the consumer contacted as the sender of any messages.
When the box is checked, the consent is recorded with the exact wording shown, the identifier of the wording version in force, the phone number consented to, and the time it was given. When it is not checked, no consent is recorded and the platform will not send that person an unprompted message.
Current consent wording (SMS_CONSENT_V1)
The wording presented beside the checkbox, with the name of the business the consumer contacted substituted where marked:
I agree to receive text messages from [BUSINESS NAME] regarding my inquiry, including responses, follow-ups, and appointment-related messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
Wording is versioned. Existing versions are never edited — a change creates a new version — so a consent record always refers to the exact text the person was shown.
A business may also obtain consent through its own channels, outside this platform. Where it does, that business is responsible for the consent it collects and for the records supporting it.
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Messages are generally sent in response to the recipient's own messages and activity, so the number of messages depends on the individual conversation and the messaging program the business is operating.
5. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply.
Your mobile carrier may charge for sending or receiving text messages, according to your plan. AI Lead Closer does not control those charges.
6. Opting out
Reply STOP to opt out of SMS messages.
After you send STOP, you will receive a confirmation and will stop receiving further SMS messages from that messaging program. You may also reply with UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT.
Opting out of one business's messages does not opt you out of messages from a different business that also uses the platform, since each business communicates from its own number.
7. Getting help
Reply HELP for help.
You can also contact us at support@ai-lead-closer.com.
For questions about a specific message you received, the business that sent it is usually best placed to help, as they hold the details of your enquiry.
8. No purchase required
Where consent to receive marketing text messages is requested, that consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
9. Responsibility for compliance
Using this platform does not by itself make a business's messaging compliant, and AI Lead Closer does not warrant that messages sent by businesses using the platform comply with applicable law.
Each business using the platform is responsible for:
- Obtaining and keeping records of appropriate consent before messaging
- Honouring opt-out requests promptly
- Complying with applicable law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and applicable state law
- Complying with carrier requirements and A2P 10DLC registration obligations
- Ensuring the content it sends is accurate and not misleading
We may suspend messaging for any business that we believe is messaging without appropriate consent or otherwise in breach of these terms.
10. Supported carriers
Message delivery depends on mobile carriers and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
11. Privacy and terms
Our Privacy Policy explains how message content and phone numbers are handled. Our Terms of Service govern use of the platform generally.
